Common Faults and Treatments of Electronic Platform Scales

1. What are the causes of digital fluctuation?
a. Unstable power supply voltage. Solution: Equip with a voltage-stabilizing power supply.
b. Dampness in the junction box. Solution: Air-dry or blow-dry the junction box with an electric hair dryer.
c. The grounding terminals of the scale platform and the instrument are not grounded. Solution: Ground the plugs of the grounding terminals of the scale body and the power cord of the instrument.
d. Insecure wiring or oxidized terminals in the junction box. Solution: Rewire or polish the terminals with sandpaper.
e. The junction box and the instrument cable are damaged due to rat bites or abrasion. Solution: Replace the cable.
f. Oxidation or poor contact of the plug (socket) of the instrument sensor. Solution: Replace the plug (socket).

2. Inaccurate display of weight (Common Faults and Treatments of Electronic Platform Scales)
a. Foreign objects are jammed around the scale platform. Solution: Clear the foreign objects.
b. Foreign objects are jammed at the bottom of the scale platform. Solution: Clear the foreign objects at the bottom of the scale platform.
c. The limit device is abutting or foreign objects are jammed. Solution: Adjust the limit gap to (2–3)mm and clear the foreign objects.
d. The sensor is damaged. Solution: Troubleshoot and replace the faulty sensor with a new one.
e. The instrument is damaged. Solution: Send it to a professional technical department for repair or replacement.
f. Uneven stress during sensor installation. Solution: Readjust the sensor to ensure even stress distribution.

3. The electronic platform scale shows normal when loaded with small tonnage, but when approaching 1/2 of the scale capacity, the displayed weight value suddenly increases.
This phenomenon is mostly caused by the too small gap between the longitudinal limit bolt and the top plate of the slope protection. When the load increases, the longitudinal bolt abuts the slope protection plate, generating a lateral thrust force, resulting in a sudden increase in the displayed value.

4. The loading of small weights is normal, but when the load increases, the displayed value decreases significantly.
It may be that the protective cover of the weighing sensor is in contact with the load-bearing platform or the load-limiting device of the weighing sensor is improperly adjusted, preventing the weight from being fully applied to the weighing sensor.

5. The electronic platform scale body sways inflexibly, and the loading does not match the display.
The possible cause is that there are fillers in the gaps between the scale body and the slope protection or between the scale pit, connecting the scale platform to the slope or the scale pit and affecting the weighing. (Common Faults and Treatments of Electronic Platform Scales)

6. There is a heavy object on the load-bearing platform, but the display still shows "zero".
There may be two reasons for this: a. The function keys of the weighing instrument are used incorrectly and it is not in the weighing display state. b. The total output line of the weighing sensor is not well-connected to the connector of the display instrument.

7. After power-on, the display flickers a fixed character and does not perform measurement.
The possible cause is that the output signal of the weighing sensor is short-circuited with the shielding wire, causing the weighing display instrument to input a large signal and appear overloaded. The resistance between the sensor and the shielding wire and between the sensor and the wire can be measured with a multimeter to find the short-circuit point and eliminate it.

8. The displayed value is much larger than the load value after loading.
The reason is that the excitation power supply of the weighing sensor malfunctions.

9. The printer does not rotate and cannot work, which is caused by poor contact of the printer connector.

10. Abnormal display on the large screen is generally due to problems with the large screen.
